https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/jean-swanson-vancouver-jobs

By allowing  to build big & tall, that means the region could really start to exist on a major international scale. By planning for growth would mean even more diversity for BC. However, the predominantly white power-structure is against Greater Vancouver becoming on a scale as Montreal is & especially Toronto. For the power-structure, that's a lot of non white people to accommodate in BC. That asinine mentality has to be challenged, because its preventing Canada from not only having 1 percent of the worlds population, but to not even half of a percent.

Vancouver's Chinatown

 https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/vancouver-chinatown-gates-defaced

In stead of Vancouver being allowed to become a thriving metropolis on the Pacific Rim, the HOLD THINGS BACK mentality has been successful in having short trains, narrow roads & bridges & short buildings when compared to what most big cities allow.

https://www.bloomberg.com/features/2021-vancouver-canada-asian-hate-crimes/

As an international city, Vancouver has been continually thwarted throughout its history. Then the locals that have been conditioned to only accept a small scale city, blame those that are different than them.

https://bc.ctvnews.ca/data-shows-vancouver-had-highest-number-of-anti-asian-hate-crimes-in-north-america-in-2020-1.5419915

When a predominantly white power structure refuses to allow Vancouver to become a proper big business city like Montreal & Toronto, Calgary & Edmonton, Seattle & SF, this is what happens.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/may/23/vancoucer-anti-asian-hate-crimes-increase

https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/jean-swanson-vancouver-jobs This is the epitome of the KEEP THEM OUT mentality. Its all part of the backwater BC agenda. Alberta & Washington State are able to do much more, simply because they aren't under Vancouver & BC type restrictions.

https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/vancouver-most-congested-city-canada-2020 Unfortunately, long term residents of Vancouver have been conditioned to accept a congestive planning agenda. Then it becomes easier for some BC residents to blame anyone that doesn't seem to be white. When a person is conditioned to accept short trains, narrow roads & bridges, it becomes that much easier to blame anyone that seems to be more cosmopolitan or "foreign".

Broadway Plan's allowable new density not financially feasible for rental housing in some areas

 https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/broadway-plan-vancouver-rental-housing-feasibility

Only 40 stories, when it should have been at lest 55 to 65. While some in Vancouver might think that its a big building at 385 ft (117 metres), it would be tiny in Seattle. It will be 12 feet lower than the shorter Westin Hotel Towers in Seattle.

The shorter tower is, 121 m (397 ft).

Bring back the original bridge plan to replace Massey Tunnel or...?

 https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/george-massey-tunnel-replacement-bridge-kevin-falcon-bc-liberals

The tunnel would be OK if it had 4 main lanes each way. Plus 2 bus & HOV lanes each way in a 3rd section. Then a 4th section for future light & heavy rail trains.

A 10 lane bridge would be much better, especially if it had a provision for a lower deck. A lower deck would allow for additional bus & HOV lanes, along with a rail corridor to connect Delta with Richmond & Vancouver. Unfortunately, BC maintains a KEEP IT SMALL approach.

A Vancouver City Councillor suggests pushing jobs out of city

 https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/jean-swanson-vancouver-jobs

This is so sad, but there has been a strong KEEP+THEM+OUT agenda in Vancouver for several decades. If business & the overall urban infrastructure can continually be held back, that means Vancouver can continue to fall behind what Toronto & Calgary, Seattle & SF allow.

Since most of the world is compose on non white people, any agenda to KEEP PEOPLE OUT, or at least slow down the influx of people, has been very carefully crafted. Vancouver has always had a white power structure to try to keep the city a provincial backwater.

To be fair, over the past several decades, its become a predominantly white power structure that refuses to build proper big city infrastructure.

Fortunately, this mentality hasn't taken over Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, Seattle, SF & especially LA, Chicago & NYC. Most major cities want to attract business & people, regardless of their skin color. They allow trains to be longer, roads & bridges to be wider & buildings to be much taller.

If Vancouver & BC continues to maintain the, KEEP THEM OUT agenda, the general public must realize that most of the world's population isn't white. Therefore, any agenda to hold Vancouver & BC back is about trying to reduce the influx of non white people.

Sydney, Australia & San_Francisco, CA are just as scenic as Vancouver & Victoria, but they don't impose the same building & infrastructure restrictions that BC does.

Some in BC are calling for free public transit while gas prices remain high

 https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/bc-green-party-free-public-transit-gas-prices

A good idea, but the inept transit planning never allowed a provision for 8 to 10 car trains, as demand increases.

Unfortunately, the Canada_Line was only built to have 50m stations when the Montreal Metro has 152.5m stations.

The first 2 SkyTrain_Lines were barely built to just over half the length of a 500 foot long Montreal Metro station. Considering how narrow most of the streets & highways are in BC, one would think that the train stations would be built to eventually be as long as a 500 foot long TTC Subway platform. However, BC is all about congestive planning.

Why would a multi generational power structure want to properly invest in big city scale infrastructure, when their agenda is to KEEP+THEM+OUT? Or, at least dramatically reduce the influx of people. Their logic is that mountainous BC is already too crowded with only 5.2 million people. Yet, mountainous Switzerland with 8.5 million people, still isn't all bricks, steel & concrete.

Indeed, Switzerland can fit into the BC part of Canada 23.62 times. That means even if BC had 200 million people, it would still have no more than the population density of Switzerland. This is merely to point out how much growth potential there is for BC & Canada, overall.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Switzerland#Geography

"It is geographically divided among the Swiss Plateau, the Alps and the Jura, spanning a total area of 41,285 km2 (15,940 sq mi) and land area of 39,997 km2 (15,443 sq mi). Although the Alps occupy the greater part of the territory, the Swiss population of approximately 8.5 million is concentrated mostly on the plateau, where the largest cities and economic centres are..." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Switzerland

"British Columbia's land area is 944,735 square kilometres (364,800 sq mi)."  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Columbia#Geography

"It borders the Canadian province of Alberta to the east and the Canadian territories of Yukon and the Northwest Territories to the north. With an estimated population of 5.2 million as of 2021, it is Canada's third-most populous province." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Columbia

Canada has yet to even contain half of 1 percent of the worlds population. Of course most of the worlds population is of non European heritage. During colonial times, White immigration was the name of the game, with only a small portion of non whites to immigrate to Canada.

Since most of the world is non white, Canada just happens to maintain such a small population, in-spite of being the 2nd largest national area on the planet. So as long as no one puts up a bunch of KEEP THEM OUT signs, people don't seem to notice what's going on.

During tough economic times, immigrants were seen as taking up limited jobs by some Canadians. Well, if wealthier immigrants were allowed in during tough economic times, that argument doesn't hold up. However, then there might be some jealousy, so its as if something else had to be done to continually reduce immigration.

Canada might use the environment as an excuse to KEEP PEOPLE OUT. This is diabolically ingenious, because it can condition the population into thinking a certain way. KEEP THE FOREIGNERS OUT, BECAUSE IT'S GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT. Unless enough people can ever see through this B$, Canada will be able to maintain the small population colonial agenda.

Keeping a lot of people out of Canada just because they are non white does indeed seem like a colonial mentality throwback. So when the world reaches 8 billion, Canada won't even have 80 million people, not even 40 million.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/challenging-racist-british-columbia-150-years-1.5930361

Parts of BC are the most mild in Canada during the winter. Yet, BC continues to have limited infrastructure investment, as if to create more congestion.

https://bcblackhistory.ca/learning-centre/anti-racism-strategies

In spite of being much colder during the winter, Ontario, Quebec & Alberta are all able to have taller & grander cities than what is allowed in BC. When more people in Canada & from around the world want to choose BC for the mild winters, the infrastructure isn't allowed to keep up.

https://globalnews.ca/news/8802898/bc-government-systemic-racism-announcement

Long time BC residents become conditioned to accept small scale infrastructure. Then when they see "foreigners" moving in & putting a strain on the small scale infrastructure, they can easily be blamed.

https://vpfo.ubc.ca/2021/03/systemic-racism-what-it-looks-like-in-canada-and-how-to-fight-it

Yet, it is the reluctance of BC & its municipalities to properly plan for big city growth.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/bc-hate-crime-statistics-1.6388519

Even if someday BC had half a dozen major urban areas, most of BC would still be mountainous wilderness.

https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/pub/85-002-x/2022001/article/00005-eng.htm

Asia is the most populated part of the planet & part of Canada reaches the Pacific_Rim. How could BC be so ignorant of this? Yet, Vancouver ended up being the Asian hate capital of Canada.

https://www.bloomberg.com/features/2021-vancouver-canada-asian-hate-crimes

So many other countries, states, provinces & cities properly plan for large scale infrastructure to handle the growth. Unfortunately, Vancouver, Victoria & Kelowna are still part of the KEEP BC SMALL AND BACKWARDS agenda.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Rim#Commerce

The Tsawwassen Mills mall

https://viewpointvancouver.ca/2016/09/27/tsawwassen-mills-mega-mall-mega-staffing-problem

Just because the SkyTrain is not considered to be a heavy rail system, there still should have been a provision to eventually have 10 car trains. However, that's what a big city would do. Unfortunately, Greater Vancouver & BC are under the control of a multi-generational power-structure that is opposed to allowing large scale infrastructure.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SkyTrain_rolling_stock#Canada_Line_fleet Why have 10 car trains when you can just have 2 or 3 car trains? Its all about congestive planning.

At first if the objective is to run 50m short trains very frequently, but to not ultimately allow a provision for 153m long trains, is another example of inept BC planning.

Will Broadway be reduced to only 3 vehicle lanes for new bike lanes?

 https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/broadway-vancouver-great-street-amendment

The absurdity of congestive planning in Vancouver & BC overall.

https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/broadway-road-redesign-vancouver-subway-great-street

No one is trying g to turn Broadway into an 8 or 10 lane wide street. It looks like it will be tough enough just to keep it at 6 lanes, like what a lot of real cities have.

8th & 10th Avenue are already bike routes.

Seattle

The Pattullo bridge Over the Fraser river in NW, British Columbia, Canada

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3oREKxiApc

The Pattullo_Bridge is another joke of inept BC infrastructure that should have been replaced decades ago.

"The existing bridge is currently being replaced with a new cable-stayed four-lane bridge with new connections on both the New Westminster and Surrey approaches. The new bridge also incorporates barrier-separated dedicated walking and cycling lanes which can be removed in order to allow a future 6-lane expansion of the bridge." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pattullo_Bridge#Replacement_Bridge

https://www.pattullobridgereplacement.ca

The new bridge should have been designed to have 6 lanes with at lest 2 wide shoulders.

https://www.pattullobridgereplacement.ca/construction/current-works

Then it could have been an 8 lane crossing including 2 rapid bus lanes so whenever the Sky-bridge had undergone maintenance, the bus lanes would always be ready as HOV space. A provision for a lower level should have been implemented for future tram, bus & bike lanes.

Instead, everything will be funneled into just 2 lanes each way.

https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/pattullo-bridge-construction-tower-foundation

The Skytrain bridge should have had a provision to have 4 tracks or at least 3.

https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/pattullo-bridge-overnight-lane-closure The new Bridge just like the old P. Bridge, will feature a classic 4 lane BC bottleneck.

https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/new-westminster-new-housing-demand-young-people

The Samuel De Champlain Bridge in Montreal

 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Champlain_Bridge_(Montreal,_2019-present)

Being from Vancouver its hard to fathom that Montreal has this new cool 8 lane Champlain_Bridge. Then I remember that no one from Vancouver or BC was able to stop it from being built in Montreal. Of course the Vancouver mentality is to prevent any new wide bridge. In fact, to prevent any new bridges that would bring more cars and trucks into its puny city limits.

https://vancouver.skyrisecities.com/news/2017/05/sibling-bridges-second-narrows

Of course the new Champlain_Bridge would be designed to carry the REM line over the river. https://rem.info/en/work-schedule Simply because Vancouver is classified as a scenic city, its not allowed to have big city infrastructure on the scale of what Sydney, Australia, SF, Seattle & Montreal allow.

The Ironworkers_Memorial_Second_Narrows_Crossing should have been built with 4 or at least 2 wide shoulders so that by now, the bridge could have had 8 to 10 lanes. Plus a provision for 2 rapid train tracks & 2 express bus lanes on a lower level. Instead, its a congested mess of 6 lanes with no shoulders or provision for rapid transit. Unlike most cities, Vancouver really excels at congestive planing. That's why the first 2 Skytrain lines have stations only about half the length of any Montreal Metro station. The Canada line only has a maximum allowance for 50m stations, while the Montreal Metro has 152.5m stations.

Montreal politicians debate whether to allow skyscrapers higher than Mount Royal

 https://montreal.ctvnews.ca/montreal-politicians-debate-whether-to-allow-skyscrapers-higher-than-mount-royal-1.5401429

Several cities have their agendas to hold back the urban environment. Montreal has been very reluctant to allow Toronto size buildings.

https://cultmtl.com/2021/05/in-defence-of-building-height-restrictions-in-montreal-mount-royal-urban-plan-denis-coderre/

Not only is Montreal forbidden to have anything tall enough to be impressive to NYC, but even by Paris & Melbourne standards. As land costs continue to rise, Montreal will have to seriously consider having a designated area for much taller buildings. London & Paris had to wrestle with this issue decades ago & are still thriving as financial as well as government capitals.

http://ville.montreal.qc.ca/portal/page?_dad=portal&_pageid=2762,3101387&_schema=PORTAL

Portland, Oregon also has its downtown next to a small mountain & like Montreal has used that as an excuse to forbid Seattle size towers.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/find-out-how-this-rule-of-thumb-helped-shape-montreal-s-skyline-1.4950667

"In Montreal, municipal regulations forbid any building from exceeding the height of Mount Royal, or 233 m (764 ft) above mean sea level.[1] Above-ground height is further limited in most areas and a minority of the downtown land plots are allowed to contain buildings exceeding 120 metres in height.[2] The maximum limit is currently attained by 1000 de La Gauchetière and 1250 René-Lévesque, the latter of which is shorter, but built on higher ground. To build higher than 1000 de La Gauchetière while respecting this limit would be to build on the lowest part of downtown; the maximum height there would be approximately 210 metres.[2]

By contrast, Gatineau and Quebec City do not have building height restrictions." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tallest_buildings_in_Quebec , https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tallest_buildings_in_Quebec#Tallest_under_construction_or_proposed

While extremely restrictive Vancouver still won't permit any office building to even have a 40th floor, Montreal at least has one that has 51 floors.

https://wikipedia.org-1000-de-la-gauchetiere.jpg  205 m (673 ft)

1000_de_La_Gauchetetiere is actually the tallest building in Montreal because it has a higher roof than 1250_Rene-Levesque

Architectural226.5 metres (743 ft)
Roof199 metres (653 ft)
https://wikimedia.org  A flagpole or antenna still doesn't make the roof as high as the tallest building in Montreal. 199 metres (653 ft)

Place_Ville_Marie is the widest of the tallest buildings in montreal. 188 m (617 ft)

In some ways Portland,_Oregon is more strict on the heights of office towers than Montreal is.
https://Portland_from_Pittock_Mansion_October_2019 ,

No 50 or 45 story office tower exists in Portland, just a 42 & another at 40 stories.

The Royal_Centre_in_Vancouver and the MNP_Tower have no 40th floor, because no office tower in BC has ever been allowed to have a 40th floor.

By now Vancouver should have been allowed to have at least one office tower over 50 stories like Montreal.
However, Vancouver still isn't allowed to even have a 40 story office tower.
So while this will be the tallest office building in Vancouver, it isn't by Portland & Montreal standards & those cities are notorious for being very limited on their building heights..

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPQRsRQiVRA , https://www.youtube.com/c/RMTransit/videos

BART had a provision for 10 car trains right from the start. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bay_Area_Rapid_Transit_rolling_stock#Original_fleet  Maximum Train length: 10 cars (710 feet (216 m)

Now if only the trains could run no more than a few minutes apart during the busy times.

Perth has an Amazingly Extensive Rail Network https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AH1kvXxnBiQ

Its always better to allow for longer trains and stations as future demand increases.

The Vancouver approach is to have the first 2 SkyTrain lines with trains half the length of a Montreal_Metro Train. Then the 3rd Line seems to take it to a new level of absurdity by only allowing for 50m stations when Montreal has 152m long stations. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montreal#Rail

Fortunately, most cities around the world don't have to deal with a BC like approach to infrastructure.

VCC’s Broadway Campus and the Broadway Plan are shaping the future of Vancouver

 https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/vancouver-community-college-broadway-campus-redevelopment-affordable-housing-broadway-plan

A reluctant city, province & nation just might eventually have to contain at least half of 1 percent of the worlds population.

When the world reaches 8 billion, Canada will not even have 80 million people. Perhaps not even 40 million. If Canada put up a bunch of KEEP THEM OUT signs, there would be a lot of challenges. Most of the world is non white, so anything to do with the KTO Agenda has been cleverly disguised.

If the KTO Agenda could ever be properly challenged, then Vancouver, Victoria & Kelowna, Kamloops & PG could all become big cities. Any slow growth initiative has been a clever way for the KTO Agenda to not build up proper infrastructure in BC.

Toronto, the quietly booming tech town

 https://www.seattletimes.com/business/toronto-the-quietly-booming-tech-town/

Fortunately, Toronto was never taken over by anything like Vancouverism. Otherwise, instead of become another big and dynamic world city like Chicago, it would have just become a stunted city like Vancouver BC.

Toronto-Dominion Centre and BVSq....

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toronto-Dominion_Centre#History

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toronto-Dominion_Centre#Technical_details

As of 2022, Vancouver's-tallest-office-building will a little taller than the 3rd tallest building in the Toronto-Dominion_Centre's,_TD_Waterhouse_Tower

The shortest office tower in the TD_complex isn't even 25 stories, but it would still rival any office building in provincial backwater Victoria,_British_Columbia.

https://viewpointvancouver.ca/2021/06/25/buildings-that-changed-vancouver-bentall-centre

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bentall_Centre_(Vancouver) No 39 or 37 story buildings there.

Unlike the Bentall_Centre_in_VancouverBow_Valley_Square was built a little taller in Calgary.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/Bow_Valley_Square.JPG

https://upload.wikimedia.org/TD_Tower_Vancouver.jpg Of course the TD Tower in Vancouver wasn't allowed to have a 50th, 40th or even a 35th floor. Thus, it just became another 30 story stump, by Toronto, Calgary & Seattle standards. Back in 1972, the TD_Tower_(Vancouver) was the first office building in BC to have at least 30 stories. In 2022, no office tower in BC has been permitted to have a 40th floor. Although Vancouver has a lot of little buildings, no Vancouver office tower has been allowed to rival the two tallest office towers in_Auckland

Victoria won't permit any office building to have a 20th floor. So far, no office building in Victoria or anywhere on Vancouver Island can be as tall as 95-Wellington-St-W-in_Toronto-ON and that building is a stump by Toronto standards. Victoria might be almost as scenic as Wellington, NZ, but Victoria won't permit its office buildings to rival the tallest_buildings_in_Wellington

Of course Wellington is a national capital, whereas Victoria is a provincial backwater capital. Unlike BC, NZ doesn't use its scenic setting as an excuse to hold back the scale of its buildings.

Once again, Vancouver only allowed a stump, in spite of the land being very expensive. Nothing like the scale of the Lippo_Centre_in_Hong_Kong

Toronto ranked the 3rd-largest tech hub in North America

It makes a lot of sense that Toronto would become a major tech hub.
