Toronto, the quietly booming tech town
https://www.seattletimes.com/business/toronto-the-quietly-booming-tech-town/
Fortunately, Toronto was never taken over by anything like Vancouverism. Otherwise, instead of become another big and dynamic world city like Chicago, it would have just become a stunted city like Vancouver BC.

Toronto-Dominion Centre and BVSq....

As of 2022, Vancouver's-tallest-office-building will a little taller than the 3rd tallest building in the Toronto-Dominion_Centre's,_TD_Waterhouse_Tower.
The shortest office tower in the TD_complex isn't even 25 stories, but it would still rival any office building in provincial backwater Victoria,_British_Columbia.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bentall_Centre_(Vancouver) No 39 or 37 story buildings there.
Unlike the Bentall_Centre_in_Vancouver, Bow_Valley_Square was built a little taller in Calgary.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/TD_Tower_Vancouver.jpg Of course the TD Tower in Vancouver wasn't allowed to have a 50th, 40th or even a 35th floor. Thus, it just became another 30 story stump, by Toronto, Calgary & Seattle standards. Back in 1972, the TD_Tower_(Vancouver) was the first office building in BC to have at least 30 stories. In 2022, no office tower in BC has been permitted to have a 40th floor. Although Vancouver has a lot of little buildings, no Vancouver office tower has been allowed to rival the two tallest office towers in_Auckland.

Once again, Vancouver only allowed a stump, in spite of the land being very expensive. Nothing like the scale of the Lippo_Centre_in_Hong_Kong.
Toronto ranked the 3rd-largest tech hub in North America

It makes a lot of sense that Toronto would become a major tech hub.
